Lightning Plus with Speech will speak menus and dialog boxes, offering full speech feedback for most text-based word processing tasks including editing documents in Microsoft Word, WordPad or Notepad.

Lightning Plus with Speech CD version includes 2 British RealSpeak voices, Daniel and Serena. Lightning Plus with Speech also includes a special portable USB memory stick version, allowing Lightning to be used on any computer without having to install anything or be an administrator. By inserting the USB stick into an available USB port on the PC, Lightning will automatically start.

Lightning Plus with Speech helps with the writing of letters using Microsoft Word, including providing a spell check function. It also works with the Microsoft Excel spreadsheet, Microsoft Outlook Windows Calculator, Windows Messenger, Skype, anti-virus programs and many more. In fact Lightning with Speech should speak the text from any accessible software program running on the computer.

Once Lightning Plus with Speech is installed, the computer will be able to speak masses of information on the Internet from accessible websites. To work on the Internet, Lightning with Speech installs our special internet browser called WebbIE.

Colour and Locator Options

Lightning Plus with Speech, with its customisable colour options, allows for better viewing of the PC screen, with the potential to make browsing and reading easier. It can change the colour of the screen theme, vary the brightness level and contrast level.

Lightning Plus with Speech features highly visible and easily customisable pointer locators. This feature is designed to help the user track and keep view of the mouse pointer even on pages which may hide or obscure it. The Caret (input cursor) is also customisable and can be highlighted making it easier for the user to find their way when word processing and data inputting on spreadsheets for example.
